Announcement (September 2012)

Hello everyone, how have you been? I'm glad to see that everyone is writing and doing well. It is a pleasure reading your submissions and I hope everyone will continue to submit more in the future.

I'm surviving college fairly decently, although I'm buried under mountains of homework. I've only been able to surface to DA and this was one of the days where I don't have too much to do!

This is what I'd like to talk about this time around.

Reminders about Submissions

I have still been finding a lot of submissions aren't going into the proper folder. My personal policy, since I have been very busy, has been to delete these submissions, and send their owners a personal message. I hope I have made this very clear. I don't want to have to made submission rules stringent and strict, but if this continues, I will put a system in place for preventative measure.

Poetry: Must go either in the "Structured Poetry", "Free Verse Poetry", "Visual and Found Poetry" or "Haiku and Eastern" folders.
Prose: Any of the folders after Eastern Poetry are PROSE ONLY folders. If poetry is found there, it will be removed. You should be notified.
Featured: closed folder, submission permitted based on admin vote
Misc: Don't know where it goes? Submit it here.

Potential Contest???

I will be opening a poll on my page to see if anyone is interested in a contest, will probably be fall or winter themed, depending when the logistics are set up. The poll will be open until Sept.30. If enough interest is generated, then I will begin the process of starting a contest.

Theme, contest dates, prizes, etc will be determined ONLY if there is enough interest in the contest. If not, then the contest not be held.

Critique Folder

I will be opening up a critique folder this week. It will be a closed folder and only submissions that ask for critique will be allowed. If you cannot officially ask for a critique, your piece may still be allowed. If anyone would like to become an official "critic" of Literature Cafe, three positions on the Contributor roster will be open if you'd like to apply for a position.

I will ask the admins to post a "application" process in their journal. These positions will be open to anyone, so if you are interested, apply quickly. However, you will only be able to apply officially via notes to There will be an official application process listed in my personal journal.
